FALL 2008 CLASS
Getting the most out of Adobe® Creative Suite
This class gives students hands-on lab time to practice using Adobe Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat together as a suite. This class includes an introduction to Bridge CS3. Emphasis will be placed on how to efficiently use all the CS3 applications together. Highlights include editing original files directly from InDesign, tips for saving and placing files and swapping swatches. Some CS3 features will be covered, including Photoshop’s Quick Selection Tool, Illustrator’s Live Color and Color Guide panel, InDesign’s Table and Cell Styles and a review of the latest Acrobat features. This 4-session class is for students with previous experience using two or more Adobe applications.
Class meets four Wednesdays at the Cleveland Institute of Art: October 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, 6:00-9:00pm.

Adobe® InDesign® Level 1
This course will teach students fundamental concepts and terminology, and the basic features of Adobe InDesign CS3. Students will learn how to create new InDesign documents, place text and graphics, and format text; create colors; create facing-pages multi-page documents; work with text and graphics in frames; modify graphics; create and user layers; print documents and export to PDF. An introduction to Adobe Bridge will be included.
Tuesdays, October 7th and 14th, 8:30am-4:30pm
Adobe® Illustrator® Level 1
This course covers the fundamentals of Illustrator CS3, which is used primarily to work with vector-based graphics. Students will learn how to create a simple illustration by using and manipulating shapes, how to draw and edit paths, and how to export an illustration. They will apply color using the Swatch and Color panels, and will apply gradients and transparencies. Students will learn how to add text and adjust typography, and how to add and manipulate layers.

Adobe® Photoshop® Level 1
Use Photoshop CS3 to create professional-looking images for both print and the Web. In this course, students will identify the components of the Photoshop environment, learn the difference between raster and vector graphics, and how to use Adobe Bridge. Students will learn to add and apply effects to text; use layers, image modes, filters, and image adjustments. This class is for beginners.
